With this said, a proactive approach in securing a healthy cybersecurity hygiene goes a long way in keeping the PDPC’s financial penalties at bay. Some of the proactive approaches include:

✅ Implementing encryption and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information; and
✅ Creating and implementing security policies and procedures, such as incident response plans, to ensure consistent and effective security practices across the organisation.
Remember, bad actors are actively lurking and seeking weak spots in your organisation. Whenever you are being complacent with your cybersecurity posture, they are making their move to get the prized personal data that your organisation manages.
